Another very successful meeting of Blarney Toastmasters at the Blarney Woollen Mills Hotel last Tuesday, with over 25 members and guests attending.
Three speeches and evaluations were presented at the meeting with the best speech awarded to Eoin Crowley who spoke about the late Steve Jobs. The best speech evaluation was awarded to Catherine Scanlan and the best topic was awarded to Sinead Huskisson for her piece on reality TV shows and bankers.
New members made significant contributions to the meeting and we are all looking forward to icebreaker speeches which will be made over the next three meetings to Christmas. The number of newly registered members for the year now numbers 10.
The meeting was attended by the Area Governor Shay Rochford who also acted as General Evaluator. On reviewing the progress of the club this year, Blarney Toastmasters appear to be well on the way to achieving the status of Select Distinguished Club, so well done to all concerned.
Our next meeting is November 8th at the Blarney Woollen Mills Hotel at 8pm, so looking forward to seeing you all there.
