A very enjoyable and slightly different Blarney Toastmasters meeting was held last Tuesday with 20 members and guests attending. What made the evening different was that the meeting was conducted throughout with the use of microphones, which some of us managed very well and others coped. Another great innovation from Victor Sullivan and totally in keeping with our quest to become good public speakers.
The award for best table topic went to Mary Conroy and best evaluator went to Eoin McCarthy. The best speech of the night was awarded to Ed O Mahony for a marvellous speech about the author Sir Terry Prachett in addition Ed also achieved the Advanced Communicator Silver Status so well done.
Presentations were also made to Fiona McAuliffe and Katherina Lackington for making their icebreaker speeches in recent meetings and there are several more icebreakers to look forward to in the coming meetings.
Finally please open the meeting spreadsheet and note where you are involved in the coming meetings I have changed things around slightly, any issues please come back to me. I am still looking for a topics evaluator for the next meeting on Jan 10th
Best wishes over the festive season.
