A great night was enjoyed at Blarney Toastmasters Humorous Speech and Topics Contest on Tuesday night.
First place in the Humerous Speech contest was awarded to our President, Jerome O’Donovan with a very entertaining speech entitled “The Boat”. Second place was awarded to Toastmaster Victor Sullivan for his very funny “Unintended Consequences”.
The Topics contest – prompted by the current Ploughing Championships – asked “What kind of a Farmer would you be?”
First place went to Toastmaster Ted Mellamphy with second place going to Toastmaster Brendan Ronayne.
Well done to all!
The Area 3 Humorous Speech and Topics contest takes place in Sarsfields Hurling Pavilion, Riverstown, Glanmire on Wednesday, 10th October at 8pm. All officers, judges and competitors must be present for briefing at 7.30 on the night.
It would be great if we had a good representation from Blarney Toastmasters, especially to support our contestants. A number of roles are to be filled by clubs on the night.
