The final meeting of the season was held in Blarney Woollen Mills Hotel last Tuesday, attended by 19 members and guests.

We had 3 speeches on the night with the best speech been awarded to Brendan Roynane for his speech on the inspiration of Toastmasters on his life.
The best evaluator was awarded to Ted Mellamphy and the Topic of the night to Sinead Huskisson for her piece on kids summer camps
Congratulations to Brendan for achieving his CC award
We resume again in September, but a walk will be organised at some point in the summer

We had a very enjoyable and poignant meeting last night attended by 28 members and guests, our largest meeting in a long time.
A minutes silence was observed for our esteemed colleague and friend Janet Thomas who passed away last week and it was generally agreed that the meeting would have met with Janet’s approval.
The theme of the meeting was Blarney about Blarney and was run in support of the year of the Blarney Gathering. Sinead Huskisson presented a superb topics session with contributions from many in the audience.
Three fantastic speeches were presented from Victor Sullivan, Ted Mellamphy and Mike McGrath with Mikes speech, about the greatest liars in history, receiving the award for the best speech. Mikes speech was evaluated by Celine Hayes who was awarded the best evaluation.
Our next meeting is in 3 weeks time with the AGM being held on the same night, this will be the last meeting of the season.
A very enjoyable meeting last Tuesday with an excellent topics session, 2 speeches and evaluations.
Congratulations to Dan Mullane for the best speech of the night about the trials and tribulations of a school spelling contest. The best evaluation of the night was awarded to Ed O Mahony.The best topic of the night was awarded to Andrea Jahn, our newest member – well done Andrea.
The Blarney Gathering meeting is scheduled for Tuesday April 23rd with the theme Blarney about Blarney. Everyone is welcome to come along and all members are asked to attend what should be a very entertaining and interesting evening. Looking forward to seeing you there.

The International Speech Contest and Evaluation Contest was held last night in the Imperial Hotel.
Congratulations to Victor Sullivan who finished in second place in the speech contest and to Brendan Roynane who performed superbly in the evaluation contest

The Blarney Club International Speech and Evaluation Contests took place on Tuesday night last with Victor Sullivan winning the speech contest about dwindling natural resources and Brendan Roynane winning the evaluation contest, evaluating a beautiful speech presented by guest speaker Sharon O Neill.
Our next meeting is in 2 weeks time on April 9th at the Blarney Woollen Mills Hotel, that meeting will be followed by a committee meeting, all committee members please take note
The Blarney Gathering Meeting is scheduled for April 23rd and I expect all members to attend at that meeting

The topics session was conducted by Dan Mullane and turned out to be an innovative and emotional poetry session, Mary Conroy was awarded the best topic of the night
3 speeches were presented with Kathleen O Mahony awarded the best speech about the joys of drinking tea and Catherine Scanlan was awarded the best speech evaluation on the night
The next meeting is in 2 weeks time on Tuesday March 26th when the club International Speech and Evaluation contests take place
Over 20 members and guests attended last nights very entertaining meeting of Blarney Toastmasters in the Blarney Woollen Mills Hotel. A slight departure from the norm, the meeting was conducted with live microphones
Victor Sullivan as topics master presented a unique topics session in which everybody spoke for 1minute on the greatest moment of there lives. Ed O Mahony was presented with the best topic for his description of running a marathon in drag. Also all our guests spoke about their own experience which was well applauded as we all know from experience this is not an easy thing to do as a guest.
3 excellent speeches were presented with Tom Hebel being awarded the best speech about an emotional issue, the rock of his life. Brendan Ronayne was awarded the best speech evaluation on the night
The next meeting is March 12th and looking forward to seeing you all there for another entertaining evening
